28-3-1965 On this day in 1965 Wolves and England marksman Steve Bull was born in Tipton in the West Midlands. Bull was a prolific goal scorer in the English lower leagues. He is the all time top scorer for Wolves with 306 goals and scored over 50 goals in two consecutive seasons 1987-88 and 1988-89. His goal scoring exploits was central in the clubs back-to-back fourth and third division championships.
Bull remained at Molineux throughout his career and one of the main stands was named after him in 2003. In 1989 he made his England debut, as a third division player, scoring against Scotland at Hampden Park.
