Gunnar Nordahl was the top scorer in the 1948 London Olympics scoring seven goals in four games including the second goal in the 3-1 victory over Yugoslavia in the Wembley final. A few months later he was transfered from the Swedish club IFK Norrköping to the Italian team AC Milan. He was the spearhead in the club’s Swedish forward line together with Gunnar Gren and Nils Liedholm, a trio known as the Gre-No-Li trio. With the Swedish trio AC Milan won the Scudetto twice. Nordahl holds the record for most AC Milan goals (210 goals in 257 games) and is the second highest scored in Italian football history behind Silvio Piola. His 35 goals in the 1949-50 is the highest in a single season in Serie A.
