  • English Premier League: Manchester Utd. win the title as Arsenal and Chelsea draw 1-1. Chelsea defender Boulahrouz gets red card shortly before half time and Silva scores from the resulting penalty. Chelsea’s Essien equalizes with a header in the 70th minute.
  • Spanish Primera Liga: Real Madrid beat Sevilla 3-2 in top of the table clash and swap second and third places behind Barcelona. Van Nistelrooy nets twice and Robinho scores one before he is sent off in the 79th minute.
  • English Championship: The final matches of the season sees Sunderland end as champions. Birmingham are also promoted while Derby, West Brom, Wolverhampton and Southampton will play off for the third promotion place. Southend, Luton and Leeds are relegated. Cureton (Colchester) ends as top scorer with 23 goals.
