On this day 12th May

1979: Arsenal beat Manchester Utd 3-2 in the FA Cup Final at Wembley. Arsenal lead 2-0 at half time through goals by Talbot and Stapleton. McQueen scores four minutes from the end and McIlroy equalises with two minutes left. But Arsenal snatch the winner a minute later when Alan Sunderland finishes a Brady-Rix move.

Brian Talbot had played for Ipswich Town in the previous years final. Ipswich had won 1-0 over Arsenal.
