A dramatic penultimate round of matches in the Spanish La Liga leave the top three unchanged. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Sevilla all draw their games. With two minutes left of their matches Barcelona lead Espanyol 2-1 and Real Madrid trail 1-2 away at Real Zaragoza. A late equalizer by Ruud Van Nistelrooy – his second of the game and 33rd of the seaon – earn Real Madrid a point. A minute later Tamudo grabs a dramtic last minute equalizer for Espanyol at the Nou Camp. Sevilla also gain one point after a 0-0 draw away at Mallorca.
This leaves Real Madrid and Barcelona level on 73 points. Real Madrid lead the race for the championship on head-to-head result with Barcelona. Sevilla are still in the race only two points behind on 71.
The Championship will be decided next Sunday with the following fixtures:
