Tony Kempster’s website (see source) lists all the mileages between clubs in different English leagues. Here’s the longest and shortest from the different leagues (2006/7):

Premier League:

  • Longest: 370 miles Newcastle – Portsmouth
  • Shortest: 1 mile Everton – Liverpool
  • Most traveling: Newcastle 4,248 miles
  • Least traveling: Aston Villa 2,316

Championship

  • Longest: 412 miles Sunderland – Plymouth
  • Shortest: 5 miles Birmingham – West Brom
  • Most traveling: Plymouth 6,191 miles
  • Least traveling: Coventry 2,528

Division 1

  • Longest: 390 miles Bournemouth – Carlisle
  • Shortest: 9 miles Leyton Orient – Millwall
  • Most traveling: Carlisle 5,357
  • Least traveling: Chesterfield 2,662

Division 2

  • Longest: 372 miles Hartlepool – Torquay
  •  Shortest: 8 miles Bury – Rochdale
  • Most traveling: Torquay 5,673
  • Least traveling: Notts County 2,304
