The final of the 2007 U-17 World Cup between Nigeria and Spain ended 0-0 after extra time. Nigeria won the penalty shootout 3-0 to win the trophy of the third time. Nigeria’s Macauley Chrisantus finished as the tournament’s top scorer win seven goals in seven games. Chrisantus plays in Nigeria for Abuja FC. Ghana’s Ransford Osei also scored seven goals.
The star of Nigeria’s win was goalkeeper Oladele Ajiboye whose two penalty saves decided the shootout in the Golden Eaglets favour.
Germany defeated Ghana 2-1 to gain third place.
