  • English Premier League: Two goal Van Persie shoots Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League. Sunderland come back from two early Arsenal goals to draw level at 2-2 but Van Persie decides the match in the 80th minute.
  • English Premier League: Chelsea win 1-0 at Bolton thanks to a 41st minute goal by Kalou. Lampard returns for Chelsea who start with Kalou up front and Shevchenko and Pizarro on the bench.
  • English Premier League: A goal by Torres in injury time rescues a point for Liverpool against Tottenham at Anfield. Liverpool take the lead in the 12th minute thanks to Voronin but two goals either side of the break by Robbie Keane gives Spurs a 2-1 lead that they hold to the final minutes of the match.
  • English Premier League: Manchester City‘s bright opening to the season continues as they win 3-1 at home over Middlesbrough. Brazilian midfielder Elano scores two for City.
  • English Premier League: Michael Owen scores Newcastle‘s winner in the 90th minute of a dramatic 3-2 home win over Everton.
  • Italian Serie A: A last minute penalty by Mutu gives Fiorentina a 1-1 draw at home to Juventus.
  • Italian Serie A: Totti scores two as Roma win 3-0 at Parma.
  • Dutch Eredivisie: Brazilian striker Alves scores seven as Heerenveen win 9-0 against Heracles.
  • Spanish La Liga: Barcelona and Real Madrid both win at home. Barca beat Atletico Madrid 3-0 with goals by Deco, Messi and Xavi while Real beat Recreativo Huelva with late goals by Van Nistelrooy and Higuain.
  • German Bundesliga: Two goals by Toni and a goal by Ze Roberto give Bayern a comfortable 3-0 home win over Nurnberg.
  • Italian Serie A: AC Milan demolish Lazio 5-1 in Rome. FIFAPro World Player of the Year Kaka celebrates with two goals. Gilardino also scores two late goals for Milan.
