1-12-1911: The prolific Austrian striker Franz Binder was born on this day in 1911. Binder was the first European player to score 1,000 goals. He scored a total of 1,006 goals in 756 games, an average of 1,33 goals pr game.
Binder played for Sturm 19, St Polten and Rapid Vienna between 1930 and 1950. He scored 16 goals in 19 games for the Austrian national team and 10 goals in 9 games for the merged German and Austrian team during the Anschluss.
