Real Madrid go four points ahead of Barcelona in second place. Villarreal in third travel to Valladolid who are 15th, a win would move them to one point behind Real.
Real Madrid extended their 100% home record by beating Racing Santander 3-1. Raul opened the scoring after only 4 minutes. A Sergio Sanchez own goal after 11 minutes gave Real a 2-0 half-time lead. Raul scored his second after 70 minute before Munitis scored the final goal of the game for Racing in the 73rd minute.

Barcelona where held to a 1-1 draw at Espanyol. Spanish midfielder Iniesta gave Barca the lead after only six minutes but substitute Coro equalised in the 68th minute.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool win. Manchester United meet Fulham at Old Trafford Monday evening. Arsenal win 2-1 at Aston Villa. All three goals come in the first half – Gardner opened the scoring for Villa but Flamini and Adebayor gave the Gunner’s all three points. Adebayor scored his eighth goal of the season and tops the scoring table together with Keane (Tottenham) and Benjani (Portsmouth).

A 76th minute goal by Joe Cole gave Chelsea a 1-0 victory over West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

Torres nets again as Liverpool sweep aside Bolton 4-0 at Anfield. Hyypia opened the scoring in the 17th minute when he met a Gerrard free-kick. Gerrard also created Liverpool’s second in the final minute of the first half when he found Torres who chipped the ball over the advancing Jaaskelainen. Gerrard scored from the penalty spot in the 56th minute before Babel finished the scoring in the 86th minute.
