On This Day – Kenny Dalglish Scores First Liverpool Goal

20-8-1977: Kenny Dalglish scored in his first League game on this day in 1977. Dalglish scored in the seventh minute in a 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough at Ayresome Park. He completed his first season at Anfield with a total of 20 goals in 42 League games. Liverpool finished second in the League behind Nottingham Forest.

Clemence, Neal, Jones, Thompson, Kennedy, Hughes, Dalglish, Case, Heighway, McDermott, Callaghan. The substitute was of course David Fairclough
