On this day – Bobby Moore makes West Ham debut

Bobby Moore
8-9-1958. On this day in 1958 Hammers legend Bobby Moore made his debut at home against Manchester United. West Ham won the First Division match 3-2 in front of crowd of 35,672 at Upton Park. Smith, Dick and Musgrove scored for West Ham while McGuinness and Webster scored for Manchester United.

The West Ham team was Gregory, Bond, Cantwell, Malcolm, Brown, Moore, Grice, Smith, Keeble, Dick and Musgrove.

West Ham finished in sixth place that season 13 points behind champions Wolverhampton Wanderers.
