On This Day – Beckham Captains England for 50th Time

12-11-2005. On this day in 2005 David Beckham captained England for the 50th time. England won a high charged friendly 3-2 against Argentina. The game was played in Geneva in front of a crowd of 29,000. The teams where level 1-1 at half time thanks to goals by Crepso and Rooney. Samuel gave Argentina the lead in the 53rd minute. Two late goals by Michael Owen in the 86th and 90th minute.
