24-11-2001 and 25-11-2001. The ten Premier League games played on this weekend in 2001 produced only ten goals.

Saturday 24-11-2001:

  • Bolton 0 Fulham 0
  • Chelsea 0 Blackburn 0
  • Leicester 0 Everton 0
  • Newcastle 1 Derby 0
  • Southampton 1 Charlton 0
  • West Ham 0 Tottenham 1

That’s right three goals in six games on the Saturday. Shearer scored a penalty for Newcastle. Pahars scored in the 59th minute for Southampton. And Les Ferdinand scored for Tottenham at West Ham.

Sunday 25-11-2001

  • Arsenal 3 Manchester Utd 1
  • Leeds 1 Aston Villa 1
  • Liverpool 1 Sunderland 0
  • Middlesborough 0 Ipswich 0

Second-half goals by Henry (2) and Ljungberg turned the game in Arsenals favour after an early goal by Paul Scholes. Alan Smith scored for Leeds and Kachloul for Villa. Heskey scored the only goal at Anfield.

By the way, in last weekends round of games in England there where goals in every game in the top five divisions. But Tiverton and Oxford City in the Southern League Premier ended goalless in front of 195 spectators at Ladysmead.
